October 2006 update

Sunday, October 1st, 2006

Wrapped up mixing for The Crash That Took Me disc in the first few days of the month and sent the reels to Abbey Road for mastering. We’re excited engineer Sean Magee (Placebo, Clinic, At the Drive In) will be doing the session…we can’t wait to get it back later this month. Engineers Casey Diiorio and Paul Williams spent three weeks with Dallas based Slider Pines tracking songs for their upcoming release. It was a Memphis good time had by all. Mixing will be done here at Valve in late November and Alan Douchess will be mastering. Dallas rockers The Valentines also spent a couple days at Valve recording a few overdubs to their upcoming disc. Currently managed by the same people as Green Day, look to hear this in 2007.

September 2006 update

Friday, September 1st, 2006

The first week of the month was spent with The Wishlist completing most of the guitar/keys overdubs for their upcoming record. After taking a few days off in Chicago, we came back and worked with Bowling for Soup and producer/engineer Russ-T Cobb on vocal overdubs for a Disney release. Hal West also came back in the studio to continue vocal overdubs. The Crash That Took Me returned for three days to do some last minute overdubs and also to track a new song from scratch to be included on their record. Mixing began for the record at the end of the month by producer/engineer Casey Diiorio and engineer Mark Petty. We’re excited that this is the first project here that we’ll be mixing from our new HD system. Most of the record was tracked straight to our Studer A-80 and dumped into the HD rig for mixing.
