The new year started off with a bang in January with Ryan Tedder from One Republic coming in for a day of tracking. Was great to have him to the studio and get to talk vintage mics, keyboards and music with him. Hope to see him back next time he’s in town. Producer Will Hunt (Evanescence, The Burning Hotels) visited Valve for a few days to record the basic tracks for All the Delighted People while producer Casey Di Iorio continued tracking for the upcoming Red Like Heat disc while producing 2 songs for young indie rockers The Casual Tuesdays. Denton indie elite American Werewolf Academy came in to cut tracks with Producer John Dufilho and Casey Di Iorio for an upcoming EP?look for these tracks later in the year. Valve also welcomed Producer Sterling Winfield (HellYeah, Pantera) back to the studio for two days of tracking.

March and April saw the continued tracking of upcoming Bawcomville disc “Tranny” with 3 additional songs while final tracking and mixing for the Red LIke Heat record began. Austinite John McCane brought up his Prince inspired tunes to hit his Linn drums to tape and track the live instruments and vocals. Dr. Fink of Purple Rain fame added keys to a few tracks. Casey Di Iorio made a not so often trip for a live recording to the Granada Theater to record Justin from Blue October’s sold out solo acoustic show.

May welcomed back These Machines are Winning to begin tracking bass and vocals for their second release with Producer Casey Di Iorio. This album will prove to be a bit more rock than the last..still with the great electronic drums and keys?..we’re super excited about it. The Blurries visited for a day to have Casey mix their contribution “Hard to Love a Man” for A Texas Tribute to Jason Molina album. Great version and compilation..go check it out. The Dallas duo the Brehms brought in super talented instrumentalist Milo Deering (Lee Ann Rimes, Jack Ingram) to track violin, violin and mandolin on their track “Kitty Kat” with Casey D. To add to an already busy two months, production and tracking for Heart & Hero from Dallas began in June for 10 days with Producer Casey Di Iorio.

So far for 2013 updates our batting average is .5 ?. Not bad, right?
